Vote for Chase Trails in National Lottery Awards. Vote online or by calling 0844 836 9721 (voting closes at midday on 20 June so vote today)
Chase Trails have reached the semi-finals if the 2011 National Lottery Awards. The awards are an annual search to find the UK's favourite Lottery-funded projects, and they aim to celebrate and recognise the difference that those projects have made to people, places and communities all across the UK.
We need your vote to help us win the award for best sports project.
By voting for Chase Trails and 'The Monkey Trail' you'll be showing your support for the trail and the work our volunteers do to build and maintain it. Most importantly if we win the 2k prize we'll spend it on rock & timber to improve the trail. We'd encourage all of the mountain bike community to get behind us and show their support for trail development and the future of sustainable mountain biking in the UK.
Who We Are – What We Do
Chase Trails was founded by local riders in 2003 with the aim of building and maintaining high quality, sustainable mountain bike trails on Cannock Chase. Working in partnership with the Forestry Commission, we have built 15 miles of mountain bike trails that we are continually working to maintain and improve. To date it is estimated that over 25,000 hours of volunteer time have been invested in the trails.
Chase Trails rely on volunteers to build and maintain the trails. We hold trail building sessions every Sunday, meeting outside Swinnerton Cycles (Birches Valley Forest Centre) at 10am. We'll supply tools, guidance and a warm welcome, all you need is outdoor clothing, trail snacks and lots of enthusiasm. If you're out riding and see us on the trail, then please stop and lend a hand, even a few minutes is a big help.
Our next Big Build Day will be Sunday 3rd July
